To support the Great Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office, the full-time Environmental Scientist will provide technical assistance for Protected Species recovery efforts, ESA Section 7 Consultation support, and NEPA preparation, while working remotely. Key responsibilities: Provide technical assistance for ESA Section 7 consultations, including developing biological assessments and coordinating with federal partners Support stranding and disentanglement programs by conducting data entry, audits, and stakeholder engagement related to marine mammals and sea turtles Assist in the preparation and review of NEPA documents to support NMFS activities and recovery planning for protected species Required qualifications: Possess a degree (bachelor's or master's) in environmental science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience Experience with ESA and MMPA regulations and consultation processes Familiarity with marine mammal and sea turtle conservation efforts Ability to conduct literature reviews and prepare technical reports Proficiency in data management and analysis related to environmental science
